What's on for Poole Pride 2026
Poole Pride is back – bright, beautiful, and bursting with creativity in a joyful celebration of the beautiful identities that make up our community – on Saturday 6 June 2026.
Join us from midday for a day of family friendly entertainment celebrating LGBTQ+ culture in the arts. Everyone is welcome – come as you are and dive into a day filled with colour, connection, and inclusive fun.
Alongside a vibrant lineup of cabaret, live music and drag performances, talks, a poetry slam, creative workshops, a silent disco and more, there are stalls to explore and fantastic local organisations championing and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. The programme in the outdoor theatre includes Jasmin Circus, Sing People Sing and Teddy Talks.
Lighthouse to host a Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival Screening
In the runup to Poole Pride, Lighthouse is to host a special screening of a new feature film by writer/producer/director Rachel Dax alongside two internationally celebrated short films from the Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival.

Drag Superstar Bimini and Horse Meat Disco Added to Poole Pride
Lighthouse is delighted to announce new-drag superstar Bimini and queer club culture DJ collective Horse Meat Disco have been added to the bill for the first Poole Pride evening celebration on Saturday 8 June 2024.
Drag queen, artist, author, recording star, model, and a much-heralded champion of inclusion and self-affirmation, Bimini will appear as the main support act to headliner Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor to Headline First Poole Pride in June
Sophie Ellis-Bextor will headline the first ever Poole Pride on Saturday 8 June 2024. Planned in consultation with a community steering group that includes members of the LGBTQ+ community, Poole Pride will include performances and activities throughout Lighthouse, including the outdoor theatre. A Queer film festival will run in the week leading up to Pride as well as a month-long exhibition, presented in partnership with AUB, honouring influential gay activist John Chesterman who was closely involved in the formation of the Gay Liberation Front in 1970 and whose ideas underpin the modern Pride movement.
Comes As You Are for festival of trans, non-binary and gender queer theatre
A festival of trans, non-binary and gender queer theatre comes to Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts from 29 November – 1 December as Camden People’s Theatre take over the venue with a host of performances and workshops from gender-anarchists with more questions than answers.
