William John was charged for the second time with same-sex acts in 1841 and fled the country and execution. During his exile, he continued to send his siblings detailed instructions for the transformation of Kingston Lacy and his collections. William John was never able to live at Kingston Lacy again, but it's thought that he risked his life to visit Kingston Lacy at least once before his death.
Follow the story as we imagine his visit to his beloved house in the dead of night and walk around the rooms with him and his sister, Anne. The drama includes themes of persecution, execution and discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation.
