After a slightly delayed start, the Pride parade took a new route, starting in the Triangle, down to the Square and up past the town hall to end up in Meyrick Park. Thousands of onlookers lined the streets to welcome the parade, this year a simpler walking parade with no floats or vehicles other than emergency service vehicles.
For the first time since 2001, Bourne Free took place in Meyrick Park. With fun fair rides, info and trade stalls, a great range of food stalls and places to get a drink, Meyrick Park proved to be a great location for the event. Some technical issues delayed wristband entry at the beginning so there was a bit of a slow start, but things got going as around 1,500 people joined the relaxed party atmosphere. There was a main stage at one end and a smaller community stage with much needed cover for the audience - it was a sweltering day.
