Bourne Free Pride Festival 2012
Bourne Free Pride Festival, Bournemouth's gay pride event, is on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15th July 2012. The theme this year is ‘Royalty’ to celebrate the Queens Jubilee.
It all starts with a town centre parade, then live family entertainment at the bandstand in the afternoon, followed by live entertainment on the stage in the Triangle from 7pm. Sunday includes a church service at the triangle, followed by lots of different goings-on in the Triangle.
Kerry Katona has been announced as one of the headline acts for July 14. The singer and TV personality will kick start the evening’s entertainment on stage and will sing later in the evening.
Vice Versa Dates
Since launching in February this year, Vice Versa has taken the Bournemouth gay scene by storm.
Now well established at the Xchange, on the second Sat of each month, Vice Versa has had three Saturday parties and one ‘Vice Versa Xtra’, on the Easter Bank Holiday Sunday.
The resident DJ and promoter of Vice Versa, Dave Hunt, said: “I knew that there was a significant number of people who wanted this type of night, but have been surprised at the large number turning up and the amazing atmosphere created.”
One clubber was heard saying: “This is amazing; it’s just like what gay clubbing was like about six years ago – proper club music; people enjoying themselves; fantastic atmosphere!”
